Another page of the un-realized saga. I don't want to get too far in, so there might be something left in case I can manage to finish this thing. The response to the previous sneak preview post was nice and I always enjoy putting words in these guy's mouths so I'm trying to clear the decks to get it back on the drawing table. Pen and Ink 10 x 15
Yes! This is great news. :)
ReplyDeleteHahaha! Classic, Steve.
ReplyDeleteI'm definitely going to check this out when it's done. :)
*pumps fist, head bangs, throws horns*
ReplyDeleteKeep it coming Steve! Pretty please? This is beyond awesome!
Hahaha, another Sam & Max classic moment.
ReplyDeleteIt's great to hear you're trying to finish this comic! I was worried that your work at Pixar would keep you away from Sam and Max for a long time.
ReplyDeleteSpeaking of which, if you don't mind me asking, are you involved at all in Cars 2? I'm just curious.
RAnthonyMahan--
ReplyDeleteI haven't worked much on Cars2 except for doing some temp voices. I've been working on Brave.
ahah oh this made my day :D
ReplyDeletethanks steve :D
I really miss sam & max comics
I have a question, is that brush or nib pen?
ReplyDeleteThat would be so great to read a new sam&max comics..please finish it..!
ReplyDeleteSam's line in the first panel made me laugh so hard.
ReplyDeleteThere is no amount of money you could charge us that we wouldn't pay for a brand new, pen and ink honest to goodness Steve Purcell new issue of Sam and Max!
ReplyDeleteIf cars need to be burnt in the street in the shape of Max's head to facilitate this artistic and commercial triumph, then let it be so...just tell us if you want us do drag the passengers out first or what?
Hey, Steve,
ReplyDeleteWill Boyer here. I'm a fan and your old Sam and Max comic is one of the things that has really influenced me artistically. Just wanted to drop a quick line to tell you that, although I don't post often (my first comment on your blog, I think), I also really enjoyed seeing the last two pages - and this one too. Just wanted to drop a bit of encouragement if I could your way and say I'd love to see more Sam and Max and to see this story of yours completed. The games are good too, but I'm in love with the comics medium. Always have, always will be. There's just something about lines on paper and the feel of the pages between my hands that drives me crazy.
I'd buy it ahead of time XD
ReplyDeleteMan, I love your comics! Any chance for you to write a new comic book?
ReplyDeleteGoing by the rarity of the sketchbooks for SDCC a few years back as well as the sellability and high prices of your harder to find work in general (especially Surfin' the Highway when it was out of print), I think any Sam and Max comic at this point is a surefire seller.
ReplyDeletePlease put this out!
If you ever finish it, what the heck are you going to call it? Its premise is so famous among fans that you may as well just call it "Max Gets Shot and is Replaced With a Monkey, adapted from the notion of Max getting shot and being replaced with a monkey".
